Last May, Square Enix sold some of its studios to Embracer Group for $300 million… Among the entities sold, Eidos Montreal, which has the Tomb Raider and Deus Ex franchises (among others).
According to recent rumors, this may mean that the studio is now working on a new Deus Ex episode. The franchise has always been very successful and was establishing itself long before Cyberpunk 2077 as the reference for this type of futuristic and somewhat chaotic dystopian universe.
Unfortunately, no more projects around the franchise have been released since 2016, leaving Cyberpunk 2077 in a near-monopoly situation… But the Eidos teams see just the opportunity to offer in the next Deus Ex what Cyberpunk 2077 has not been able to provide to fans.
The question remains as to when the title will be released and what it will offer…
