GTA 6: Rockstar wants to offer a "benchmark of creativity"

Take-Two recently released its financial results for Q1 2022 and confirmed a little more the success of GTA V. The title is now the second best-selling game in video game history since Minecraft.

The game also remains the highest-grossing entertainment in history across all formats, well ahead of the biggest hits in the movie or record industries. More than 170 million units of the game have been sold worldwide since its release in 2013.

Take Two thus claims a net profit of €102 million for the quarter, a decrease of 47.4 million compared to last year, but which is explained by the $12.7 billion buyout of Zynga.

But Take-Two also addressed its future and especially the development of GTA VI. We know from several sources that the title will feature a city inspired by Miami to which several other cities will be added over time to expand the universe. The game would also bet a lot on the interiors and will propose a duo of characters with a woman and a man, inspired by the famous duo Bonnie & Clyde.

To reassure investors, Take Two renewed its ambitions: GTA6 is well on its way to development and the studio intends to make the game the new creative benchmark for the entire industry, but also for the entertainment sector in general.

Clearly, if GTA V bluffed the world when it was released for its environments, gameplay and content, we should expect another even bigger slap in the face with GTA VI.
