Riot Games reveals the names of the 30 teams selected for its partnership program on Valorant

In April, Riot Games gave a taste of what VALORANT esports would look like in 2023, with the introduction of international leagues that will offer top-notch competition between the world’s best players and organizations on a weekly basis. It’s time for Riot Games to unveil the 30 selected organizations joining the partnership program on Valorant.

VALORANT 2023 TEAMS REVEALED

As announced some time ago, Riot Games has just revealed the names of the 30 teams selected to be part of the new Valorant partnership program that will begin at the start of the 2023 season. 2023 will see the arrival of 3 new international VALORANT leagues. Each consisting of 10 partner teams, they will represent the elite of VCT competition. Earlier this year, Riot Games kicked off a partner selection phase for each league. Riot Games has finally selected 30 teams that will be the perfect partners to enter a new era of our sport and provide fans around the world with an unforgettable experience.

It was very difficult for us to choose; we were touched by the multitude of applications we received, which demonstrate the interest in the event. The selection process took several months. Aspiring partners had to send in written applications, take part in in-depth interviews, and submit a financial statement.

Riot Games selected VCT partners who:

  1. Share the values (i.e., putting our fans first and honoring the diversity of our community) and who are committed to supporting the professionals.
  2. Have successfully created a strong connection with fans through engaging content, true branding, and an exciting workforce.
  3. Have a mindset focused on a sustainable business.

It should be made clear that while we respect and honor the competitive achievements in previous editions, this was not a determining factor in our choice; we were primarily looking for partners who could deliver the most exciting VCT for fans in the future.

With so many teams in the ecosystem, it’s clear that not all of them could be selected. Still, their adventure in the VCT does not end there. In fact, some 20 Challengers leagues around the world will give teams the opportunity to represent their region and compete in international leagues via Ascension’s new tournaments.

North America – LOS ANGELES

We’re sure the competition will be tough in the VCT Americas league. Not only do the teams have squads that can compete with anyone, but the intense rivalries will result in games every week that you won’t want to miss. We are very fortunate to have strong teams representing North American, Brazilian and Latin American fans. These organizations have a proven track record of accomplishment in e-sports and brand building, all with very loyal fan communities. At the heart of each of their regions, fans value these teams for their history and their ability to bring together e-sports and video game culture in general.

The EMEA region is large, diverse and has a tremendous pedigree in SPF. We wanted both teams that have a nationwide reach and others that favor large national audiences. For either group, these organizations represent the best in terms of fan engagement, competition and business acumen. Our goal is to create local rivalries to drive audiences to high-stakes games, while building VALORANT’s fan community over the long term.
