Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic: the remake compromised

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is arguably one of the most popular games based on the George Lucas universe among gamers. The original title launched in 2003 by Bioware was a hit, and the installment has been praised by critics and gamers alike for its execution and content.

No wonder then that the remake announced last year is eagerly awaited… Unfortunately, the project is experiencing some setbacks.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for PS4

According to Bloomberg, the title has reportedly been delayed indefinitely. Aspyr, the studio in charge of development recently fired two directors and put the project team on hiatus while they reflect on the studio’s future.

Aspyr would have already made good progress on the title and the news is thus all the more surprising. The studio had thus presented a rather convincing demo to its production partners last June.

Aspyr has already been working on the title

Now, it could be that the studio has injected far too much money into the development of the demo in question. Another subject of turmoil: some Aspyr executives reportedly promised a 2022 delivery of the title to Sony and Lucasfilm, while the development teams were aiming for 2025 instead, in order to give themselves time to offer a polished game that lives up to expectations.
