Xbox Series: Microsoft cuts boot time in half

New generation home consoles stand out from their predecessors by using RAM and SSDs, which overall allow for a faster boot time. This is often combined with a specific sleep mode that allows you to not have to actually reboot the system and thus resume a game in just a few seconds.

Microsoft, however, wants to go a step further and is offering an update intended for Insiders only for now that drastically reduces the boot time of its consoles.

Xbox Series S

Usually, it takes an average of 9 seconds to boot up an Xbox series X or S, with the update this time is reduced to 4 seconds.

The update should be officially deployed in August, it should not change the lives of users… And yet, the fact of seeing its console start up with a snap of the finger is a sign of a certain power and quality for some players… While waiting for the update, we’ll have to think about how to intelligently exploit all this saved time.
